Ring-Back Patent Invalid, Cingular Claims

Law360, New York (May 21, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- Cingular Wireless LLC has moved for a summary judgment declaring a patent on ring-back technology invalid, claiming it was granted without knowledge of prior art.

Ring Plus Inc. sued Cingular last September, accusing the telecommunications giant of trampling its patent for the emerging and lucrative ring-back services, which can turn handsets into ads while callers wait for calls to go through.
