Law360, New York (April 03, 2005, 12:00 AM ET) -- South Korea’s LG Electronics Inc. and Japan’s Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. Ltd. have settled a bitterly fought patent dispute over plasma display panels and agreed to enter a cross-licensing arrangement.
The companies said the cross-licensing agreement will include personal computers and DVD technology as well as plasma displays.
"LG Electronics and Matsushita welcome an early settlement of the pending disputes," they said in a joint statement. "As a result of the settlement, the companies reconfirmed continued cooperation in other business areas."
