Law360, New York (July 09, 2012, 11:34 PM ET) -- Intel Corp. said Monday that it will invest €3.3 billion ($4.1 billion) in Dutch chip equipment maker ASML Holding NV, including a purchase of 15 percent of ASML's shares, to develop new computer chip technology.
Intel's investment is meant to accelerate the development of 450-millimeter wafer technology and extreme ultraviolet lithography by as much as two years, which should result in cost savings and productivity improvements for semiconductor makers, according to the company.
