Law360, New York (July 13, 2012, 1:52 PM ET) -- GPS device maker Garmin International Inc. said Friday that a Texas federal jury had reached a verdict in its patent dispute with Ambato Media LLC, finding that Ambato's television receiver patent is infringed by some of Garmin's personal navigation devices.
The jury awarded Ambato $500,000 in damages, according to Garmin, which is a subsidiary of Garmin Ltd.
The jury held that Garmin's personal navigation devices, which previously used the MSN Direct service, infringed on Ambato’s patent, according to Garmin.
