Law360, New York (July 13, 2012, 11:03 PM ET) -- A California federal jury on Friday returned a $147.2 million verdict against Research In Motion Ltd. for infringing Mformation Technologies Inc.'s wireless security technology patent with its BlackBerry phones.
The jury determined that RIM had infringed U.S. Patent Number 6,970,917 and that the company owed $8 in royalties for each of the 18.4 million units that infringed the patent.
