Former Hitachi-LG Exec Sentenced For Bid-Rigging Plot

Law360, New York (July 19, 2012, 4:02 PM ET) -- A California federal judge on Wednesday sentenced a former executive of a joint venture between Hitachi Ltd. and LG Electronics Co. Ltd. to 180 days in prison in connection with his role in a bid-rigging plot on the sale of optical disk drives.

In addition to the half-year prison term, Woo Jin Yang, who worked for Hitachi-LG Data Storage Inc. and cooperated with a U.S. Department of Justice investigation into the bid-rigging conspiracy, was ordered to pay a $25,000 fine and a $400 assessment fee. U.S....
