Samsung Sued Over DVD, Blu-Ray Content Filter Patents

Law360, Los Angeles (August 02, 2012, 4:07 PM ET) -- Nissim Corp. on Tuesday sued Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. and its North American subsidiary in Florida for violating six patents covering technology that allows users to skip over sex and violence on DVDs and Blu-ray discs.

The lawsuit targets DVD and Blu-ray players that the South Korean electronics giant has been importing and selling in the U.S. that are capable of filtering out material that may be inappropriate for children.
