Law360, New York (June 13, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- Digital power company Magnetek Inc. has agreed to pay Ole K. Nilssen $18.75 million — several million dollars less than Nilssen was awarded in arbitration — to settle charges that it infringed the Norwegian inventor's patents covering electronic lighting ballasts.
The settlement, announced Thursday, came less than two months after a federal judge confirmed a $22 million arbitration award in favor of Nilssen and his Geo Foundation, according to Magnetek.
