Deals Rumor Mill: Kuka, Verizon, Belgian Post Group

By Benjamin Horney (May 27, 2016, 6:07 PM EDT) -- The top executive at German factory robot manufacturer Kuka AG is onboard with Midea Group Co.'s €4.57 billion ($5.15 billion) takeover offer, lobbed last week, according to a report from Reuters on Friday. According to the report, the company's chief executive said at Kuka's general meeting of shareholders that the deal can "support our strategy," which involves reaching €1 billion in sales by 2020. The management and supervisory boards of Kuka have yet to make any official recommendations, however, the report noted. Under the terms of the proposal, Kuka's stock would be acquired by a subsidiary of China-based Midea, with Midea planning to guide the company's future growth, both in China and in Germany....
