Law360, New York (August 16, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- Computer chip giant Intel Corp. can subpoena a 3-D graphics company for documents related to its merger with Intel rival Advanced Micro Devices Inc., a judge ruled on Monday.
Intel claims that the details of the $5.4 billion deal between graphics company ATI Technologies Inc. and AMD will help in its defense against antitrust allegations from AMD.
The documents subpoenaed could bring to light AMD’s strategic rationale for merging with Ontario, Canada-based ATI, as well as projected growth opportunities and any perceived underperformance in certain markets....
