Law360, New York (May 06, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission will investigate claims that California-based Universal Smart Electric Corp. imported dimmer switches that infringe the patents of light-switch maker Lutron Electronics Co.
The commission said Wednesday it would begin an investigation into the company under Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 in response to Coopersburg, Penn.-based Lutron's claims that USE infringed two patents and one trademark.
The complaint, filed April 7, alleges USE's Enerlites dimmer switches infringe the patents and trademark for Lutron's Maestro- and RadioRA-brand dimmer switches. USE's...
