Law360, New York (February 17, 2010, 2:38 PM ET) -- DataTern Inc. has launched a new suit accusing BP America Inc., Allstate Insurance Co., Discover Financial Services Inc. and others of infringing a second patent related to database technology.
DataTern lodged its complaint Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, alleging that BP, Allstate, Discover, SunTrust Banks Inc., ConocoPhillips Co., Buy.com Inc., HSN Inc., Halliburton Co. and various affiliates infringe U.S. Patent Number 6,101,502.
