Law360, New York (January 04, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- Besieged by mounting allegations of anti-competitive practices, US telecommunications company Qualcomm is now the subject of a full-scale investigation by South Korea’s anti-trust watchdog.
After forming a taskforce early December, the Korea Fair Trade Commission announced Thursday it would step up its probe into alleged anti-competitive practices by the San Diego-based company.
Investigators will consider claims the company exploited its near-monopoly on key patents for its cellular phone software system used in all handsets across Asia.
