Law360, New York (March 21, 2011, 7:58 PM ET) -- A ruling the Texas Supreme Court issued Friday will allow CenterPoint Energy Inc. to pursue recovery of more than $900 million in stranded costs stemming from the state’s nearly 12-year-old utility deregulation law, according to the energy company.
The decision sends a long-running legal battle back to the Texas Public Utility Commission and details how the regulator should rethink its calculation of what CenterPoint should receive under cost recovery provisions built into the 1999 Texas deregulation law.
