Renesas Slaps Vizio With Patent Suits Over TV Imports

Law360, New York (August 15, 2011, 4:34 PM ET) -- One of the world's largest microcontroller suppliers sued Vizio Inc. on Friday in the U.S. International Trade Commission and Texas federal court, seeking to stop the electronics giant from importing and selling televisions that allegedly infringe its semiconductor technology patents.

Japan-based Renesas Electronics Corp. and Texas patent holding company 511 Technologies Inc. sued Vizio in federal court, claiming its digital televisions infringe two of Renesas' semiconductor component patents.
