Law360, New York (July 20, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- Taiwanese computer maker Acer Inc. has returned fire against a patent infringement lawsuit filed by Hewlett-Packard Co., claiming that the company is violating four of its patents related to personal computer and printer functions.
In counterclaims filed Thursday in a Texas federal court, Acer and its U.S. subsidiary asserted that California-based HP is infringing patents for wireless communication, optical disk lasers, printer cartridges and technology that protects computer chips from extreme heat.
