Law360, New York (June 13, 2012, 5:58 PM ET) -- BP PLC and Transocean Deepwater Inc. on Monday asked the Fifth Circuit not to revive a citizen organization's environmental law claims in the multidistrict litigation over the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, arguing that the group lacks standing to sue.
In separate briefs filed with the Fifth Circuit, BP and Transocean urged the appeals court to uphold U.S. District Judge Carl Barbier's June 2011 decision dismissing claims brought by environmental groups, including appellant the Center for Biological Diversity.
