Law360, New York (June 25, 2012, 8:38 PM ET) -- The U.S. Supreme Court on Friday declined to hear an appeal of the Fifth Circuit's decision that refused to allow Shaw Environmental & Infrastructure Inc. subcontractors to receive compensation for illnesses they say they contracted from radioactive exposure.
The subcontractors, led by plaintiff Dominic Cotroneo, filed a petition for writ of certiorari in July, three months after the Fifth Circuit agreed with a lower court opinion finding the plaintiffs had failed to show their illnesses were caused by radioactive materials and therefore could not receive compensation...
