Jones Day Takes On Plaintiffs Firms To Score Dismissals

Law360, New York (December 16, 2005, 12:00 AM ET) -- As plaintiffs firms squabble for the right to lead plaintiff status in class action suits, attorneys with Jones Day quietly plan the courtroom strategy that has led the firm and its clients to several shareholder litigation victories.

Patricia Villareal, a partner in Jones Day’s securities litigation group, said that carefully planned defense strategy and a willingness to take cases to trial has helped the firm win two-thirds of its class action suits in court.
