Law360, New York (September 14, 2011, 7:35 PM ET) -- Prosecutors asked a Florida federal court on Tuesday to sentence a former American Therapeutic Corp. marketing director who pled guilty to participating in a Medicare kickback scheme to serve more than seven years in prison and pay $72.7 million in restitution.
In a sentencing memorandum, federal prosecutors argued Margarita Acevedo should receive a 91-month prison term and pay restitution for her role in the $205 million scheme, which defrauded Medicare during the course of eight years.
