Businessman Loses Bid For New Judge In Kickback Case

Law360, New York (February 03, 2012, 8:03 PM ET) -- An Ohio businessman on Friday lost a bid to have his criminal trial for his role in an alleged kickback scheme involving government contract work transferred away from a judge who is overseeing several other related cases.

U.S. District Judge Sara Lioi in Ohio federal court rejected Michael Forlani's request to have his case reassigned to a judge selected by random draw on the grounds that it is a “related case” under the court's rules for criminal procedure.
