NYC Comptroller Associates Deny Campaign Finance Scheme

Law360, New York (May 01, 2012, 3:40 PM ET) -- Two figures associated with New York City Comptroller John C. Liu pled not guilty Tuesday to charges that they illegally structured donations to avoid limits set by campaign finance laws.

Xing Wu “Oliver” Pan, a Liu fundraiser, and Jia “Jenny” Hou, Liu's campaign treasurer, entered their not guilty pleas at a hearing in U.S. District Judge Richard J. Sullivan's Manhattan courtroom.

The two were first arrested in November and February, and respectively accused of helping to structure donations to Liu to get around per-donor spending limits....
