Law360, New York (May 25, 2012, 8:43 PM ET) -- Federal prosecutors are discussing settling a high-profile criminal case against five former executives of General Reinsurance Corp. and American International Group over a $500 million accounting scandal that included securities fraud charges, a motion filed Thursday revealed.
Talks to hammer out a global settlement follow the Second Circuit's August decision to toss the criminal convictions of ex-Gen Re CEO Ronald Ferguson, ex-CFO Elizabeth Monrad, former vice presidents Christopher Garand and Robert Graham, and former AIG Vice President of Reinsurance Christian Milton.
