Law360, New York (July 27, 2012, 8:50 PM ET) -- Two New York attorneys were convicted Thursday on 10 felony counts for their involvement in a scheme that resulted in the issuance of $25 million in fraudulently obtained loans from Countrywide Financial Corp., Wells Fargo & Co. and others.
A federal jury in Brooklyn found Queens-based lawyers Matthew Burstein and Aaron Rabinowitz, both 40, guilty of conspiracy to commit bank and wire fraud, according to the U.S. attorney’s office. Each was acquitted on one count of bank fraud, an attorney for Rabinowitz said.
