DOJ Blasts Convicted GE Execs' Acquittal Bid In Bond Scam

Law360, New York (August 28, 2012, 2:03 PM ET) -- The U.S. Department of Justice on Monday fought three General Electric Co. finance executives' attempts to be acquitted of their conspiracy charges surrounding their roles in a municipal bond-related bid-rigging and kickback scheme, urging the court to reject their multiplicity arguments.

In May, all three were convicted on all remaining counts in the case, in which the government alleged they paid kickbacks to brokers who were supposed to be working for cities with bond money to invest.
