A trucking company urged a California federal court not to grant class certification to a former driver's suit claiming he was misclassified as an independent contractor, saying the proposed class is too broad and requires individualized analysis.

A California federal judge declined to revisit whether a newer worker-status test applies to all of a truck driver's claims that a trucking company misclassified drivers as independent contractors, saying a state appeals court ruling suggesting it would apply to more claims was not binding.
