A Second Circuit panel refused Wednesday to reconsider a ruling in favor of a Travelers unit in litigation over its handling of an underlying personal injury suit against marine salvager Sea Tow Services International.

Sea Tow Services International Inc. Monday asked the Second Circuit to reconsider its rejection of the assertion that a Travelers unit acted in bad faith in its handling of a suit against the company, saying the wording of the panel's opinion was a de facto acceptance of STSI's argument.

A Travelers unit didn't act in bad faith in its handling of a personal injury lawsuit against Sea Tow Services International Inc., the Second Circuit affirmed on Friday, finding that the insurer's presettlement strategy in the underlying litigation doesn't support such a claim.
