The Connecticut Department of Public Health has settled a federal racial discrimination lawsuit brought by former commissioner Renee Coleman-Mitchell that alleged that she was undermined amid the COVID-19 pandemic and then fired because she is Black, according to a docket entry in the case.

Connecticut's Department of Public Health asked a federal judge to toss its former public health commissioner's suit claiming she was terminated from her job because she is Black, arguing that because she failed to post a bond for litigation costs the case should be dismissed.
