A Texas federal judge on Monday stayed a proposed religious freedom class action challenging the U.S. Coast Guard's COVID-19 vaccine mandate, after the Coast Guard said it intended to repeal the mandate to match a similar pending repeal by the Pentagon.

Coast Guard employees who sued their employer over its COVID-19 vaccine mandate should not be able to hold an evidentiary hearing into the department's handling of their religious exemption requests, the Coast Guard told a Texas federal judge.
