Canada Pipeline Accessories Co. Ltd. had a valid trademark on its CPA-50E flow conditioner, a Texas federal judge has ruled after a two-day trial in which RJ Machine Co. Inc. argued that it should be allowed to use the 50E name for its own competing product.

RJ Machine Sues Pipe Rival Over Expired-Patent Monopoly
Oil pipeline parts maker RJ Machine Co. hit rival Canada Pipeline Accessories Inc. with an antitrust suit in Texas federal Court on Thursday, saying CPA illegally monopolized the market for a particular pipeline component by threatening to sue over a patent that expired two years ago.
