Ill. Official's 19-Year Sentence Too Harsh, 7th Circ. Told
The former comptroller of Dixon, Ill., who admitted to pilfering the town's coffers of more than $53 million over two decades, asked the Seventh Circuit on Monday to overturn her 19-year prison sentence, claiming a lower court didn't justify imposing a sentence far above the federal guidelines range.
