A Louisiana federal judge decertified a collective of workers accusing a Schlumberger Ltd. unit of failing to pay them overtime wages, applying a magistrate judge's determination that the many differences among the workers' job duties did not support a collective action against the oil drilling company.

An oil drilling company correctly classified seven drillers as overtime-exempt because they were highly compensated workers, a Louisiana federal judge ruled, granting the company's bid to trim a collective action alleging it didn't pay drillers overtime.
