A Colorado beauty shop chain told a federal court it agreed to pay $750,000 to nail technicians alleging unpaid commissions, straight wages and overtime, asking the court to give the deal preliminary approval in order to end the workers' class action.

The Colorado Supreme Court has taken up the question of whether attorneys' out-of-court comments about class actions they have filed are protected from defamation claims by the litigation privilege in cases where class members can be identified through discovery.
