    6th Circ. Says Union Member's Private Gripe Was Protected

    A carpenter was protected under federal labor law when he ratted out union colleagues for overbilling a client in order to get himself another job, the Sixth Circuit ruled Friday, saying his complaint was "of union concern" even though he privately raised it for his own personal gain.
