Security company Allied Universal agreed to pay $110,000 to end a U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission suit brought on behalf of a security guard who the agency said was given tougher duties and was eventually fired after becoming pregnant.

A security company discriminated against a pregnant employee at an ExxonMobil facility by moving her to a more strenuous position and firing her after she asked to be reassigned, the U.S. Equal Opportunity Employment Commission alleged in a lawsuit filed in Louisiana federal court.
