A Georgia-based company operating various gas stations throughout Alabama will shell out $400,000 to settle a lawsuit brought by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission alleging it failed to squash sexual harassment against several employees, according to a consent decree filed Tuesday.

Three companies, including Walmart, violated federal law by failing to prevent sexual harassment on the job, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said in separate suits filed this week in Alabama and Florida federal courts.
