Attorneys representing Oklahoma's attorney general and transgender adolescents sparred Wednesday at a Tenth Circuit hearing packed with observers over whether a state law banning gender-affirming care for minors discriminates on the basis of sex.

Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond and other state officials have told the Tenth Circuit not to block enforcement of a law banning "gender transition procedures," arguing that parents of a group of transgender adolescents from the state are wrong to assert that they have a right to make medical decisions for their minor children.
