In an increasingly testy series of letters to the New York bankruptcy judge overseeing the Bernard Madoff case, a lawyer representing a seven-person investment partnership demanded Thursday that trustee Irving Picard be sanctioned for "improper and abusive" use of subpoenas, a move that came in response to Picard's demand that the attorney herself be sanctioned for time-wasting and misrepresentations.
