The trustee overseeing the distribution of assets tied to Bernie Madoff's defunct brokerage told Manhattan U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Stuart M. Bernstein Friday that defendants in 57 clawback cases should not be allowed to intervene in a similar case that is ready for trial in mid-October, because, among other reasons, the requests are too late.
