UCI will appeal against Belgian injunction over gear standard

( October 9, 2025, 17:20 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Union Cycliste Internationale, cycling's governing body, said it would file a court challenge against a Belgian injunction imposed in a dispute over gear standards. UCI said it would may make changes to the tests for reviewing gear ratios, and it stressed its actions were focused on protecting the safety of riders by regulating cycling speeds. UCI said it was surprised the Belgian competition authority intervened and it "regrets that riders’ safety does not appear to be a shared objective with those who challenged the implementation" of the gear ratio standard.  The statement follows:...
