Mærsk fined in Denmark for breaching merger rules

( June 27, 2025, 10:33 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: AP Møller-Mærsk has been fined 10 million Danish Krone (around $1.56 million) by the Maritime and Commercial High Court for not having sought approval for its unit Damco’s takeover of Pilot Air Freight in 2022, the Danish competition authority said today. Damco, which provides freight services, received US approval for the merger, but the size of the companies’ turnovers required Danish approval, too. Mærsk qualified for a reduction of the fine as it contacted the authorities immediately after it became aware of the shortcomings and for its full cooperation with the authority.Statement follows (in Danish). ...
