Stay of US FTC's case against Southern Glazer's extended through Dec. 8

( October 31, 2025, 23:56 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A US judge extended the stay for the Federal Trade Commission's Robinson-Patman Act case against Southern Glazer's through Dec. 8. On Oct. 2, US District Judge Fred Slaughter stayed proceedings in the case through and including Nov. 7, based on the FTC’s representation that without congressional appropriation, FTC attorneys are prohibited from working, even on a voluntary basis, except for emergencies involving the safety of human life or the protection of property. "The court has now received the parties’ October 31, 2025, status report, which essentially indicates that nothing has changed," Slaughter wrote in an order.See attached order....
