Formosa Plastics must face US price-fixing claims over caustic soda, plaintiffs say

( February 18, 2026, 17:02 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Direct purchasers of caustic soda opposed Formosa Plastics’ motion for summary judgement on US price-fixing claims, saying there are enough disputed facts for the case to continue to trial. Plaintiffs said that while Formosa claims it increased the supply of caustic soda in the US “by running its chlor-alkali plant at full capacity while simultaneously importing increasing amounts of caustic soda into the US,” it ignores the 20%-25% of its production that it exported, making its overall effect on the supply of caustic soda during the conspiracy period “ambiguous at best.”See attached file. ...
