Google pushes for summary judgment in US antitrust case over search deal
( June 23, 2026, 23:49 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Google urged a California federal court to enter summary judgment for the company in antitrust litigation alleging that a default search deal with Apple harmed consumers. In a reply in support of its motion for summary judgment, Google said the plaintiffs "proffer no evidence — fact or expert opinion — that a more privacy protective or ads free search engine would have emerged in a but-for world in the absence of any alleged exclusive provisions in Google’s distribution agreements, that such rival search engines would have obtained distribution on any devices that Plaintiffs used, or that Plaintiffs were in any manner prevented from using them (and indeed, many did)." Google said the plaintiffs were relying on "conclusory declarations that are inadmissible for a host of reasons, and are also insufficient on their face to create a genuine factual dispute."
