The Korea Fair Trade Commission said Sunday it conducted an in-depth review because of the deal’s broad public impact, although it qualified for simplified review as a transaction between state-controlled affiliates. Korea Railroad plans to cut existing KTX fares by 10 percent to match SRT levels, add at least 17,000 weekend seats and 25 services across all routes, and extend 5 percent mileage accrual to SRT routes.
