The order directs 100 percent tariffs on drones with a maximum takeoff weight of 25 kilograms and drones with thermal imaging capabilities. Smaller drones are subject to a 25 percent tariff, as are drone parts. And drones from the European Union, Japan, Liechtenstein, South Korea, Switzerland and Taiwan pay a 15 percent tariff, while the United Kingdom’s drones are subject to a 10 percent duty. The president allowed for reduced tariff rates for companies with onshoring plans and drawback claims for imports that meet specific criteria.
