China proposes guidelines on individual liability for monopoly agreements
( August 27, 2026, 08:53 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China’s antitrust regulator released draft guidelines Thursday clarifying when executives and other individuals can be held liable for monopoly agreements and how penalties will be determined, including fines of up to 1 million yuan ($149,000) and penalties of two to five times that amount in particularly serious cases. The proposal also addresses enforcement procedures and allows individuals to apply for leniency separately from their companies.
