China issues guidelines on foreign competition, compliance for auto industry

( September 1, 2026, 07:39 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China’s automakers should avoid disruptive pricing in foreign markets and strengthen compliance across their international operations, the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and State Administration for Market Regulation said in guidelines published Tuesday. The 20-point guidelines cover competition conduct and localized compliance in foreign markets, including pricing, business practices and advertising, as well as Antimonopoly compliance, data processing and intellectual property. The nonbinding guidelines apply to Chinese automotive companies engaged in international production and business activities and are intended to support orderly international expansion and cooperation across global automotive supply chains.The guideline follows (in Chinese)....
