Indonesia opens public consultation on AI national roadmap, ethics guidelines

( August 8, 2025, 09:18 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Indonesia's Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs has launched a public consultation on two policy documents aimed at shaping the country’s approach to artificial intelligence: a white paper on the National AI Roadmap and a Conceptual Framework for AI Ethics Guidelines. The white paper is the result of deliberations by a task force comprising 443 members from government, academia, industry, civil society and the media. It is intended to serve as a strategic foundation for future regulatory and policy measures on AI development and deployment in the country. The accompanying ethics framework builds on a 2023 circular on AI ethics, and is designed to guide the safe, inclusive, sustainable and responsible use of AI technologies.
