South Korean ministers hold inaugural AI meeting

( November 24, 2025, 06:59 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: South Korea held on Monday the inaugural meeting of science- and technology-related ministers as the government takes the lead in catching up with global leaders in artificial intelligence and other future technology sectors. The meeting was created under the strategy of President Lee Jae Myung’s administration, which aims to focus all national capabilities on developing AI capacity and nurturing an AI-driven society. The meeting of about 20 ministers and high-ranking officials was chaired by Prime Minister Kim Min-seok but the minister of Science and ICT is expected to preside over future gatherings. The participants reviewed and endorsed 10 mostly AI-related agendas, including one on revamping and strengthening strategies to foster AI adoption in national-defense sectors, according to the prime minister’s office.The statement, in Korean, is attached....
